Custom injection molder Quality Models Ltd. is expanding its Orangeburg, S.C., operation.
Subsidiary Quality Model South Carolina will invest $3 million and create 26 new jobs in Orangeburg, the firm estimated in a news release from the office of South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.
Quality Models' headquarters is in Tecumseh, Ontario.
"Since our move into South Carolina in 2005, our Orangeburg facility has become a key business unit with the Quality Models' group," noted Quality Model South Carolina President Bill Szekesy in a Dec. 23 news release. "The expansion of the facility is needed to support our Southeastern U.S. customer base."
Quality Models expanded in Orangeburg in 2007, when it spent about $4 million on the program. Up to the recent expansion announcement, Quality Models had invested more than $13 million in Orangeburg and generated 75 jobs.
The company supplies parts to automotive and aftermarket, power sports, industrial and lawn and garden markets. Its services encompass injection molding, thermoforming, design, tool building, secondary assembly and painting. Its molding technologies include gas assist and complex action.
"We are thrilled another international company is expanding in our state," Gov. Haley stated. Since 2011, South Carolina has attracted investments worth more than $1.7 billion in plastics, rubber and chemicals industries, said Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt. |
